LOS ANGELES, Calif. — June 15, 2017 – (GameWire) Game Jam: The Movie is an innovative feature-length documentary that highlights the independent game development community. This inspiring, behind the scenes exploration of the ‘Game Jam’ ecosystem examines the growth in popularity of games built by independent studios. Today, the movie is making its world premiere at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles. Attendees can see the film at the Engadget Booth on the expo floor, South Hall #547, from 1:00-1:30 PM.
Produced by Clique, the film follows eight teams of independent game developers as they compete to design the best voice enabled game in 48 hours. For many of these developers, the stakes are higher than ever, as the winning team will be flown to IndieCade to demo their game before thousands of attendees.
In tracking this exclusive Game CoLab hosted ‘Game Jam,’ the filmmakers hope to inspire young developers to build their own visions into reality. Clique President Tim Gentry noted that “the passion of these indie game developers is palpable;” they even inspired him to start his own local jam on the East Coast. “The indie game dev community is a talented, thoughtful group that we can all learn from,” Gentry added.
Game Jam: The Movie, which is a collaboration between Clique, Game CoLab and Cineforge Media is set to be released in Fall of 2017. More information is available at: www.gamejamthemovie.com.
